That kind of depends on who is batting IMO.


When I coached at a much lower level, I would have everyone take on a 3-0 count. However, I would let most kids swing away on a 2-0 count, provided the pitch was the batter’s preferred pitch. I like the aggressiveness. Chances are you’re getting a fast ball down the middle on a 2-0 count, especially with the bases loaded. Unless the pitcher has nerves of steel and throws a change or something.
